Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan (sometimes: Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan) is the 30th governor of the province of Sindh, Pakistan. He took up the post on December 27, 2002.[1] Since July 16, 2008, he has the distinction of becoming the province's longest-serving governor.[2] He resigned on 27th June,2011.[3].MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has directed Dr Ishratul Ibad to return to his office as Governor Sindh on Monday. His resignation was not accepted by the President of Pakistan, after flying from Dubai, he reached Karachi early Tuesday morning and resumed his official Governor duties from Tuesday, July 19, 2011.

He is a member of MQM who supported him for being the Governor of Sindh. In 1993, he left for the United Kingdom on political asylum, where he acquired British nationality during his long stay in northwest London[4][5] and became entitled to UK state benefits.[6]
One of the many mega projects that were initiated were such as Nagan Chowrangi flyover.[7] The Governor is also now making sure many projects like Lyari express and other developments to be completed as fast as possible.[8] The Governor sindh, Dr.Ishratul-ebad is also working to make Karachi a greener city as a long term project.[9] Ebad also played a pivotal role in defusing tension and violence in the city by holding political talks with other political parties major members.[10] Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan is, as of 2007[update], the Governor of the province of Sindh in Pakistan. Furthermore the other mega developments which the Governor Sindh has planned are: Beach park, which was constructed under the special supervision of Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, is part of the under-construction Grand Recreation Project. This beautiful park spread over an area of 47 acres (190,000 m2), has been constructed along 3.7 km long coastal driveway. The park was established on February 27, 2007. The park is the country's Biggest Park, constructed under Clifton Beach Development Project on 130 acres (0.53 km2) of land. The old Toyland Theme Park has been done away with and this park replaces it. The park cost PKR 600 million and has been completed in just about 310 working days. It is estimated more than 10 million people visited per year, as by now in four months, two million have visited by now. Prior to the initiation of construction on Bagh-e-Ibne Qasim, 73 acres (300,000 m2) of land was freed from the grip of land grabbers. The entire Clifton beach, and the area now covered under the park. In June 2005, Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan took it upon himself to restore this major historical entertainment area to its original splendor.[11]Prior to the initiation of construction on Bagh-e-Ibne Qasim, Sindh, 73 acres (300,000 m2) of land was freed from the grip of land grabbers.
